Browser Size
I often get asked the question - "What is the right screen size for my website?". The answer is - it depends. It depends on what your target audience is, who you are marketing your site to as well as whether you are going for the widest possible audience, or a specific market segment.
There is a lot to be said for catering for the majority. However times change, and what is current now, will change in the future. Google offers a nice little tool to let you see your existing website compared to users who browse Google. Visit browsersize.googlelabs.com and enter your website name and click "go".
The contour shows what portion of your website is visible to users. For example, the "90%" contour means that 90% of people visiting Google have their browser window open to at least this size or larger.
Remember that it is not just the entire webpage you are interested in, you might use this to redesign some elements of your website so that they are more visible to more users i.e. so that important content is visible within the 99% contour.
